What is a cognitive assessment?
Everyone’s brains work differently and the way we learn and understand varies. A cognitive assessment helps to understand how your brain works through assessing comprehension, reasoning, memory and speed skills. Cognitive assessments can help health professionals diagnose Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Autism spectrum disorder and other learning and behaviour differences.
What can a cognitive assessment achieve?
Big Sky Psychology has been focussing on cognitive and behavioural assessments to help support young people, their families and communities to get the educational, legal and health support they deserve. Having a diagnosis for yourself or a family member can assist in receiving the appropriate support. This could be extra teaching support/conditions at school, access to NDIS funding, legal support or management strategies.
Big Sky Psychology is delivering online cognitive assessments including ADHD assessments through Coviu. WISC-V tests a child’s intellectual ability and WAIS-IV tests an adults intellectual ability. This allows us to access remote clients who otherwise would not be able to access these services.
